ABOUT

Twin telepathy is real.

Identical twin brothers Jake (drums) and Matt (bass and vocals) Derting, emerged onto the Brooklyn music scene after forming in Denton, TX in 2018. They began writing/recording their first EP, "Kickass," right around this time, following it up with their first album, "Eat Your Dogs." With the release of "RAXIS" in 2021, Venus Twins hit the road, touring at a near non-stop pace for two years - averaging a show every 3 days.

Their most recent release, “/\/\/\/\/” (Pronounced Stitching)” caught the attention of noise/hardcore luminary Justin Pearson who released the EP on his Three One G Records label in November 2024.

With each new body of music, the band expands their musical scope beyond their initial bass and drums punk sound evolving it into a blend of noise punk, emo violence, math rock, and electronic elements - defying any single genre classification.

Known for their intense live performances, Venus Twins deliver a spectacle of controlled chaos, driven by their unique twin connection and high-energy stage presence. The band have racked up over 300 live shows since they formed, sharing the stage with bands such as Whores., Metz, Heavenly Blue, Pons, Blood Brothers, among others.
